November Offerings
A Wonderful Month of Offerings for November
Spring is my busiest time, riding on the energy of Spring, I give workshops almost every weekend. Traveling from our country home to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and more for conferences, workshops and this Spring, the special screenings of "Things We Don't Talk About - Women's Stories from the Red Tent". We've just had a very special Deepening weekend with BlackBear for the students and graduates of SSM, very special! I can also feel and see the School growing with this Spring energy. The next year long program, The Four Seasons Journey, starts in November and the one to follow which starts November 2013 will start her registration process soon. Also growing is the interest in me bringing my work, my offerings, to Europe, India and America. Very Exciting! Sending you Spring love and energy! Love, Jane xxxx

Spring has Arrived!
Spring has arrived and the busy-ness returns!These past weeks I have given two beautiful workshops...
Maidens and Mothers Moonsong in Bega NSWand Connecting with the Shamanic Dimensions of Pregnancy in Rozelle Sydney with Ganga.
The Maidens and Mothers Moonsong in Bega was a beautiful gathering, 11 Mothers and 10 Daughters in a circle in the kindy room of the Steiner school, such a beautiful energy in the room.
Maidens learning, Mothers teaching, Feminine wisdom reclaimed!
Connecting with the Shamanic Dimensions of Pregnancy in Rozelle, 20 of us in sacred circle space in Nola's magnificent art studio. We sang, shared processes and stories to remember what we know about the role our experiences play in our life journeys to wholeness, to understand and know ourselves better.
And delved into the shamanic realms to connect with babies, soulbabies and Inner Goddesss.
Mamatotos, Soulbabies and BirthKeepers sharing wisdom, experiences and love,
a beautiful day together.

From One Rite to the Next : Jane speaks at The Home Birth Conference

the influence of & connection between menarche and childbirth
The Connection between a woman's experience of menarche and therefore what she takes with her to her experience of childbirth is not often taken into account.
The opportunity and potential healing and transformation, once this is known, can enhance the attention to her life journey, as a whole rather than simply her experience of childbirth.
This perspective also enables a deeper understanding for when a rite may feel like a 'wrong'
So often childbirth is seen as an isolated incident in a woman's life, however is we take the whole woman into account, more individual care with her specific healing requirements and the transformational possibilities for her can be taken into account.

Home Birth Conference 2012
This time next week, I will be preparing for my journey to Hobart for the 28th Home Birth Conference
The first Homebirth Conference I went to was at the Blue Mountains in 1984, it was the fifth in Australia, and there were 350 people there!
It was where Homebirth Australia was born. I was 26, a student midwife at a big Sydney hospital, completely shocked by what was going on in the maternity ward, seeking something other.
And I sure found it!
There was a tribe of women, so conscious of the long lasting effects of birth and the value and importance of women giving birth in their own homes. My eyes were opened.
I went to that conference with my dear friend Shea Caplice, she had just started working as a graduate midwife at Manly hospital and was about to start an apprenticeship with Maggie Lecky Thompson.
When I finished my hospital midwifery training I too went on to do an apprenticeship with Maggie and then started my own practice in 1985.
And here I am attending a Home Birth, with my own home born baby on my back looking on. This year he turns 20!
Ive been to many of the Homebirth conferences over the years and absolutely love them.
At this years Conference, I will be speaking on:
'From One Rite to the Next: the influence of and connection between Menarche & Childbirth'
And this year, for the second time, The School of Shamanic Midwifery has been given the role of conducting the Closing Ceremony, which we love to do.

I recently birthed my little girl at home and whilst I had a fantastic experience I felt I was missing something and had begun seeking answers when the opportunity to do your workshop came along. I feel that life clearly gives us what we need, when we need it - and suddenly I was clear to come for the day.
Your workshop was absolutely amazing and filled in the gaps for me - I was missing something! Birth is designed to be a spiritual experience, but like anything we need to work through so much history and be in tune with ourselves, our mothers and sisters, and in harmony with the earth. I am really excited about learning more and clearing and empowering myself for my next birth, and understanding how we as women can regain the power and mystery designed to come to us with birth, so that I can help spread the word.

On another note, I was immensely impressed with the level of research and energy you put into the Avalon workshop. I have attended and facilitated many workshops but never one as compelling as yours. I believe all birthing women - in fact, all women, should complete it as compulsory. Your workshop helped me understand just how important birth is, and what it can be. I wish I had done your workshop rather than the mountain of pre-birth reading I completed - it really made the whole thing make sense. I can't wait to complete an extended program with you and am only disappointed you won't start till November.
It's exciting and empowering stuff and I wish I could do it tomorrow!
